Buying t-shirts in bulk is a smart move if you've got long-term ambitions for them, whether that's setting up a bespoke printing service, running a club or just kitting out a team of waiters or service engineers with a smart uniform. The main advantage is that you'll benefit from wholesale prices, which means that the more you buy in one transaction, the more you'll save on unit cost and delivery charges.
What is important, however, is that "bulk" doesn't mean "cheap and cheerful". Whatever your t-shirts are for, be it a t-shirt business or supplying a team, the quality of the fabric and tailoring reflect upon your organisation. So getting good quality garments make a big difference.
So how can you guarantee quality? One way is to stick with brands renowned for high quality. Here are some of our favourites.
Probably the most famous name in the world of t-shirts, Fruit of the Loom didn't get its reputation by accident - it has built it up over the decades, producing high-quality t-shirts in the complete range of sizes. Because Fruit of the Loom is such a well-recognised brand, it can actually be to your advantage to leave the labels in, even if you're reselling t-shirts. It shows you're not scrimping on cost and are committed to quality. Fruit of the Loom is also committed to environmental stewardship and has lots of schemes in place to reduce its ecological footprint.
Canadian manufacturer Gildan has been around since the mid-1980s, and is another name associated with quality and choice. With Gildan, your main benefit is the enormous range of colours available. Some of their basic tees come in as many as 27 colours, so if you've got a specific brand identity you're trying to achieve with your t-shirts, you'll almost certainly find a very close match in one of their ranges of crew neck or polo shirts. But quality is a watchword here, too - you can't go wrong with Gildan.
This company is a relative newcomer to the t-shirt scene but has made a splash with its modern, high-performance range. While Just Cool t-shirts look great and are comfy and well fitting, they do seem to have more of a sporty edge to them, which might be to your taste if you're looking for slick, flattering clothing for your team or your customers. AWDis is a collection of brands, including Just Hoods and écologie as well as Just Ts and Just Polos (two other options you might be interested in).
Finally, there's a superb brand called Bella+Canvas. This might be the one you turn to when you're looking for something really fashionable, with an ever-growing list of contemporary styles available. These are visibly high-quality and supremely well-tailored, and that does come with a slightly higher price tag than some bulk t-shirts out there, but you'll find it's worth it when you feel the supremely soft fabrics and inspect the durable weave.
At Screentextiles, we've got an endless list of brands to choose from, so if your favourite isn't mentioned above, we almost certainly stock it, at wholesale prices.
